High Kick! is the original series that leads to sequels such as High Kick Through the Roof and High Kick: Revenge of the Short Legged. It follows the life of the whole family of Lee Soon-Jae (or the Lee family), and funny situations and events that the members were put in.

This series, IS SO FUNNY. It has plots and a personality, which makes it stand out from other sitcom series that I’ve watched. I watched this around 2008/9, and in 2024, I still find it so funny. Each character has their own characteristics, and even after 15 years, I still remember who’s who. Maybe I am biased due to this being such a huge part of my life, but If you have time and want something funny, I would recommend this series to watch!

If you know Park Min Young from “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” or “Marry My Husband”, then I knew her from this series. She looked so fairy-like back then, and I remember I would love every single episode that she took part in. Moreover, this series also has Kim Bum, Chan-sung, Jung Il-woo, and etc…

One special thing about this series is that the characters that each actor/actress played, also have the same name as them (or they change their last name to fit into the Lee family).

This series is a masterpiece.

I do love this series a lot, however, sometimes I did not like the English teacher’s character. She was just a bit too “off this world” for me. I liked it when Shin Ji and Min Young had a little situation-ship together more.

I would say this series is something to watch while you’re eating, need 1 short episode, or need something quick. You don’t have to commit to it, or else, it can get a bit overwhelming to binge all of the episodes in a few days.
